The FIFA Foundation and Erasmus+ continued to support our football programme for children and young adults living in Ritsona camp. Our partnership with Avlona Football Club enabled us to continue to make use of the excellent community facilities near the camp. In conjunction with local football club, Ermilios, we ran a 5-week long “Summer Camp” for children living in Ritsona. The camp centred around football, but also involved other fun activities, and - thanks to the participation of Café Rits, a small NGO providing food for camp residents - the children were able to receive a nutritious meal every day.

WINNER OF THE “EMPOWERMENT THROUGH SPORT” AWARD AT THE INTERNATIONAL PEACE & SPORT FORUM

We have always prided ourselves on the quality and effectiveness of our work, and this was recognised at the prestigious International Peace and Sport Forum in Monaco, in December 2024, where our “Score4theFuture” football programme won the EMPOWERMENT THROUGH SPORT award. We received the award in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, and sporting luminaries such as Didier Drogba, Paula Ratcliffe, Sifan Hassan, Stephen Roche and many others. Jellina Keulen, Lighthouse Relief Sports Co-ordinator, accepting the award, said “I’m very proud of our team, volunteers, local sports partners, and everyone who contributes to this programme. It feels great to be recognised by such a prestigious organisation.”
