  • Programme Intern - sports & Safe Spaces

We restarted our Sports & Safe Spaces programme in June 2025, and are expanding the structure of our programming to include education and further recreational workshops in 2026. We have vacancies for five Programme Interns to start immediately, ideally for a period of 3-6 months.

Experience coaching sports, supporting the development of accessible and inclusive activities, and working with children and young people in vulnerable contexts will be important requirements. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. Qualified female candidates are particularly encouraged to apply.

We will also be looking for volunteers (for a minimum period of three months). Volunteer applications should be made through the “Volunteer” section of the website.

  • Communications Intern

As a Communications Intern with Lighthouse Relief, you will play a key role in advancing our mission to support refugees and asylum seekers in Greece. Working closely with the community we serve, the Ground Team, and the Head of Communications, you’ll help shape impactful storytelling, strengthen our advocacy and fundraising efforts, and contribute to external communications across digital platforms to support programme sustainability.

Beyond communications, you’ll also have the chance to engage directly with our programmes—participating in the planning and implementation of activities to expand our reach and impact.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to develop their communications skills while contributing meaningfully to humanitarian action. We currently have three full time positions available.

  • Fundraising Volunteer

Join Lighthouse Relief’s Communications and Fundraising Team to help sustain vital psychosocial support and sport programmes for people seeking refuge in Greece.

You will research grant opportunities, support donor outreach, and assist in developing fundraising campaigns such as Giving Tuesday. This remote volunteer role offers hands-on experience in NGO fundraising, communications, and partnership development. Ideal for someone passionate about human rights, advocacy, and community-led impact. Applicants should be familiar with the migration context in Greece and more widely in Europe.

Minimum commitment: 2 days per week for 2 months.
