ten years of lighthouse relief: KEEPing THE LIGHT ON FOR PEOPLE SEEKING safety.
Today, more than 230,000 refugees and asylum seekers reside in Greece. It is more crucial than ever to provide accessible, trauma-informed support for people seeking refuge, yet critical gaps in humanitarian protection persist. In 2025, mental health support remains among the most urgent. On the Greek mainland, people living in refugee camps are isolated and cut off from essential services and opportunities that help people live with dignity and to feel in control of their lives.
Living in remote locations with limited access to transport and restricted opportunities for work, leisure and education compound the heavy psychological toll of these oppressive environments.
Lighthouse Relief provides access to dedicated safe spaces and sports programmes to deliver vital mental health and psychosocial support to men, women, and children living in Ritsona and Malakasa Refugee Camps.
You can help sustain these empowering programmes. On December 2 at 07:00 EET through December 3 at 19:00 EET, your impact will be amplified. Donate to our Keep the Light On. campaign and give hope to refugee families.
December 2-3, 2025 is #GivingTuesday
HOW WE DO THIS
Watch this 30-minute webinar to see how Lighthouse Relief uses a trauma-informed, participatory approach to support people seeking refuge and build pathways to successful integration.
With many people facing long waits for asylum decisions while living in insecure and often violent environments, a chronic mental health crisis has taken hold. Our ground team shares how Lighthouse Relief is fostering well-being in the Ritsona and Malakasa camps by creating safe spaces for women, children, and young men.
keep the light on.
Across Europe, people seeking refuge face isolation, social exclusion, and barriers to full integration into societies. The psychological toll is immense. Together, we can help change this.
Lighthouse Relief’s Keep the Light On. campaign stands in solidarity with displaced communities both in Greece and around the world.
